Have a Purpose and a Passion. We don't care what you do, see it as purposeful and be passionate about it. Even if you dig ditches understand that there is a purpose for it. Someone needs that ditch. Maybe it is to provide fresh drinking water to a community in need. Think of all those people that will appreciate it even if they don't know you or what you contributed to it. Have a passion for what you do, that way you will become the best at it! We need to spend more time judging each other on how well do what we do and how much purpose and passion we have for it.

Be Smart With Your Money. Make sure to pay yourself part of what you make so you can replace a portion of that income later. Hire competent financial counsel that can assist you in making a plan for your money and the future needs you have for it. Good counsel will spend time educating you on developing your goals so that they are reasonable and attainable. They will provide options by helping you to understand the consequences, both good and bad, for your financial decisions. Remember, even the top professionals in the world rely on coaches and counsel to assist them.

Create a Balance for Your Time. Take time to enjoy yourself and those you care about. You work hard to support yourselves and your families, have some fun! We have all heard time is money. Should you not be able to create a balance and manage your time, there is a chance you will not be able to balance other aspects of your life like your relationships or your finances. Finally, don't be afraid to spend money on yourself or others, just don't be flamboyant and overly extravagant and make sure it does not disrupt your financial goals and plans.

Give Back to Your Industry. Whatever job you have, be prepared to give something back to the industry it falls in. Become a mentor to someone new in your business and teach them all of what you know including these principles. If you own a business, hire an intern and do the same. There are many other suggestions we could provide here and do not be afraid to use your imagination to create one. Do not become so proud or stubborn that you can not learn something new about what you do and be giving back to your industry you will.

Be Charitable. Find a charity or cause you believe in and donate! Not just money, maybe time, or maybe things you no longer need, or your knowledge. There are many ways to give to your community and to be charitable without feeling like unless your are contributing sums of money you truly aren't charitable. Money can't fix everything and sometimes it can't fix anything at all! Your time, dedication, and persistence are omnipotent and nothing we know of has more power than this.

We hope this helps empower you. It certainly does us. We are not perfect and struggle to remind ourselves of these principles constantly. We will say, however, our experience in applying these concepts has made both of us and our relationships stronger.
